Adopting the popular name 'Eyewitness News' from America, this news opener was in the style of Ten's then current ident. It used the same music as the opener before it. Canberra station 'Capital' adopted the opener for their own local news.

What looks like a cross between the two news openers above and below this one, using the same theme as the Ten Evening News opener before it, but with the name Ten Eyewitness News in the new Channel Ten font.
1990-1991
This opener is based totally on CBS America's 'CBS Evening News'. Notice that the first letter of every word in 'Ten Evening News' spells TEN.
MORE INFOģ

In 1990, Ten in Sydney and Melbourne changed from its 1 hour bulletin at 6.00pm to this 30 minute one, introducing the current affairs programs 'Sydney with Mike Gibson' and 'Brisbane with Anna MacMahon' in the remaining 30 minutes. Melbourne, however, stayed with the 1 hour bulletin until November 1990, when it was cut down to 30 minutes by Ten because of its struggling financial position, along with the Sydney and Melbourne current affairs programmes, both axed. In April 1991, all bulletins were changed back to the 1 hour format.
