NTD8 Territory Television
NTD8 officially opened on 11 November 1971.
Until March 1998, Channel Eight was the only commertial television station in Darwin, and took a mixture of programs from all 3 networks. However, in 1998 Seven Darwin began, and all the programs from the Seven Network were screened on it, leaving 8 Darwin with a mixture from Nine and Ten.
On New Years Day 2003 8 Darwin finally became Channel 9 Darwin, after being owned by the Nine Network for quite a few years. Even after being called Channel 9, the frequency stayed on channel 8. |
